I have a CrossFire 160GB external HD which has died. One of the supply voltage pins has bent and fallen off so I am guessing that power supply has died. I don't have a transformer which uses the same pin configuration to test the unit with.

I have tracked down a replacement transformer but it costs around £40 whilst a new drive case would cost around £20-£30 so that is the way to g I think.

Does anyone know what style of drive will be in the CrossFire, and what would be the most suitable case for the drive.

Thanks.

The Crossfire drive might be either a Parallel ATA (PATA) or a Serial ATA (SATA) drive. They have entirely different connectors, and require different enclosures. The best bet is to remove the drive from the enclosure and check. Then you can get another enclosure that will work with it.

A PATA connector is much larger than the SATA, here are some images of the 2 connectors
