View Full Version : Barack Obama must go

OK, the party is over.

After all of the misinformation and dirty lies spread about Obama over the course of the presidential campaign, this is the most shocking I've heard about him: He uses a Zune. This can't be possible.

Why? Because, as has been widely reported, Obama, many of his staffers and Joe Biden use a Mac. And well, Zunes don't work on Macs and ... my mind is blown.

So, he's either more personally tech savvy than we thought and uses Boot Camp or Parallels to sync up his Zune for working out—which is a lot of effort just to do that, really—showing just how committed he is to reaching across the aisle in all kinds of ways, or he secretly has a PC too. Or.. what if all that Mac stuff was just a lie to attract the young, Twittering college crowd? What if his whole campaign was a lie? Is the world even real? Hold me.

Surely it was in the public's interest for this vile secret to be released before the election.

A drug problem I could handle. Sleeping with a hooker - no bother. But a Zune!

you know the sadest part about that statement is while you are joking there are people here who truly will feel that way because he is using a Zune.

He uses a Mac to please the Apple crowd and he uses a Zune to please the Microsoft crowd. I guess all he needs to do now is have a Linux box.

I don't even think the Microsoft crowd use Zunes. In fact, I think even Zune guy gave up the Zune...

Ha... who uses the Zune then?

I know of only one person that has one. About a year ago a co-worker told me that she had a Zune. I asked her why she didn't get an iPod Nano and she said, "because the iPod Nano doesn't play video and the Zune does." I guess she got bad information from someone because the iPod Nano got that upgrade about 4 months before she got the Zune.

Well, at least he won't have to ditch the Zune when he moves into the WHite House, like he will his BB. The BB works, performs a function, does things. The Zune can sit on the corner of the desk in the Oval Office and be used as a paperweight.

Bill Gates Meets With Joe Biden

Yes, that was Microsoft co-founder/philanthropist Bill Gates who showed up at the Obama transition offices in Washington today. All that an Obama spokesperson would say is that Gates met with Vice President-elect Joe Biden...

And gave him a box of Zunes for the transition team. ;)

It's not known whether Gates had any other transition-related meetings or whether Biden will soon meet with Steve Jobs for the sake of appearances.

Can you wear black turtlenecks to the White House?

Zune is a great device, I have no idea why Microsoft isn't launching it outside of North America because it really does rock. I tried one at a Toys r Us store in New York last year when I visited and the screen was incredible, really big and bright. The interface was nice and simple and it seemed like an awesome all around player.

Dear Mr. Jobs,

Please help me regain my dignity, after having voted for someone who uses a Zune, and help restore confidence in our nation by providing President-elect Barack Obama with an iPod.

Thank You

While the Zune might be a nice device, we are all self declared Apple fans, and must remain true to our hearts. :o

Is that a possible hint at who the newly made Secretary of technology, or whatever its called, will be?

Its no secret that Obama is planning on making that position (finally).

I hope to god its not gates, we dont need a corporate head there.

Last year, while I was in California, I went to a concert in Mountain View.

Microsoft had a team of Zune promo-people there who were wandering up and down the queue, handing out Zune promo stuff and giving out raffle tickets to encourage people to go to the Zune stand to see if they'd won a Zune.

I watched them approach about 50 or so people - 90% didn't even take the raffle ticket since as they said, 'but why would I want one? I have an iPod' :p

This message thread has turned into the funniest thing I've read on this part of the MacRumors forum probably in years. :D

The rebuttals fly:

But today a spokesman puts the vicious rumor to rest. “Not true, the President-elect uses an iPod,” he says. And the Philadelphia writer, Neal Santos, blogs today: “It could belong to one of the many Secret Service dudes that were at the gym, Michelle, or even one of his daughters.”

But the ZuneHeads are not swayed:

“For now we’re claiming the president-elect one of our own,” writes Adam Krebs on Zune Thoughts. On the site’s forums, Alber1690 writes “I was a staunch Hillary supporter, but this is awesome! I’m excited for the future of this country.”

“I don’t know if he can institute all of this change that everyone expects from him but he has impressed me once again,” writes Zune Max. “If the Zune team was on top of things they would send Obama some more Zunes for the new cabinet so they can Zunecast each other.”

On Zunerama’s message boards, one user writes “Look at what President Reagan did to the sales of jelly beans! This is great news!” “This is probably the best endorsement Zune could’ve gotten… for free,” says another.

The past handful of posts before you are all about his people denying he uses a Zune and stating he uses an iPod... "he doesn't" what? Doesn't deny it? This is getting confusing. :p

I bet it'll turn out that it belongs to Joe Lieberman. Where's my "Democrat for Zune" bumper sticker?

and we have another example of why mac lovers are not respected.... You do not allow him to use his music player because it is not apple.

Sounds like we have a class full of people who need to grow up.
