its the weirdest thing... everytime i try to change my desktop wallpaper on my tibook... system preferences crashes and it asks me if i want to send the bug report to apple... this happens both when i control click the desktop or go directly through system preferences... no other preferences [ie... dock, expose, appearence etc...] cause this crash... there are no peripherals plugged in nor external disks... ive tried rebooting a couple times as well as repairing permissions...
anyone got any ideas??? thanks...

did you recently do an upgrade of panther?
upgrade does mess up the system often..

You're running 10.2.8 and you right-clicked (control-clicked) on the desktop to change the background, right?
Well, at least, that's the problem I used to have.

Try deleting the preference file in your Library folder, inside your Home folder.
