I don't suppose there's a way to play the PS3 demo (if there is one), right? :p

You're out of luck my friend. :p
BTW the demo is in English with English text.

Hmm... I'm debating whether I should download, burn, and try or just wait.

Strange they would only release a RE5 demo for 360 in Japan.

That is strange, considering the PS3 is doing better in that region. MS probably paid Capcom a large sum for that exclusive. :o

^I wouldn't put it past them....just for a demo that will eventually hit the PS3 anyway but thats just speculation;)
I've watched the demo being played and the controls seems stiff...hopefully they improved on RE4 controls.

That's how Sony got them in the first place...
Seriously though ALL companies do that... don't see why people vent more vitriol about one company than an another when it's obvious they are all at it.

Yea I was gonna say, it's not as if Nintendo or Sony don't buy studios. Some are inhouse, some are second party and some just have a preference to certain consoles.

Yep, some companies are just better at doing so, since their enterprise cash cow is HUGE...

Any tips on how to burn the demo with the iMac? I tried twice with Toast but I get a disc that the 360 can't read.

? Eh ? ? eh ?
You download the demo on your 360 directly.
The only way it would work your way is assuming your 360 is modified in some way to read DVD-R's.

I'm sorry, I didn't read well the first post. The fact is, the demo has also been uploaded on megaupload, and lots of user seem to be playing it on their not modified 360 just burning it and putting the disc in the 360. I tried, but I don't know how to burn the disc to make it compatible

OK.. that's interesting!
Anyway I found this on another forum if it's of any help to you...
"TO ALL MAC USERS I was having trouble too what you have to do is create a folder on your desktop, name it whatever you want, THEN place the content folder INSIDE THIS NEW FOLDER. Then take this folder, drag to Toast, make sure it is on Data, DVD-ROM, and then burn using a CD-R or DVD-R. There you go."

16 posts, and not a word on the actual demo by those who played it.
Gameplay? Performance? Graphics? Controls? Anyone? :)

I tried the method posted above, and IT WORKS! So no need for a fake japan account, you can just download the demo and then burn it with Toast. I'll post some thoughts on the game after some gaming session :)

Can you say...Resident Evil 4 with better graphics. I had a better time playing the Dead Space demo.

Dead Space was a blast. Overall I liked it better than RE4, but it was definatel lacking in a few areas -- mainly the bosses -- when compared to RE4.
Did anyone else notice that the intro for RE5 looks like Metroid Prime's intro?

I downloaded the files and burned the "contents" folder or whatever it was called to a CD-R as a PC (Joilet) disc, which worked. You have to remember to sign out of Xbox Live before you open it or it won't work.
Silly they're not releasing this (fully English!) demo in the States until later.
Can you say...Resident Evil 4 with better graphics. I had a better time playing the Dead Space demo.
My first impressions:
• Graphics and performance: fantastic. It looks quite nice.
• Controls: Awful. :( I only tried the default, type D I think?, but I hated them and it was an almost impossible effort to move about and shoot. I had no problems with how RE4 on the Gamecube controlled, and the 360 controller is quite nice and somewhat similar, so this really surprised me. Maybe the final game will have tweaked controls or maybe one of the other three types will suit me better. I haven't had time to try it out too extensively. Also: the over-the-right-shoulder view made things more difficult than necessary IMO. Can't see what's happening to your left!
• Gameplay: It seems the game really is meant to be played with two real people in co-op mode. Your AI controlled partner isn't anything to write home about. While I'm sure the co-op will be fun, I'd kind of rather have it be a regular single player game.
Summary: disappointed. I was really looking forward to this after how great RE4 was, but not I'm not so sure. Still on my watch list though, and it may turn out to be a lot better than my quick impressions from this Japanese demo.
