So I have an intel based MacbookPro running on Tiger and I'm trying to install Leopard on it.
I got the install disc from a friend and it says "For Mac Computers" on it so I assume it should work on all Mac computers, but every time I try to install it i get a window that says "Mac OS X cannot be installed on this computer". :/
Any ideas what's the problem and how to fix it? Please help. :)

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5G77 Safari/525.20)
Is the disc an actual Leopard disc from Apple or something that your friend or someone else made? If someone made it, I would say that the disc is bad.

it's an official installation dvd my friend got with one of his macs. he has both a macbookpro and imac so im not sure which one he got it from. but i know another friend used an installation dvd from an imac on his macbook and it worked fine.

Then it's not suited for your Mac and is only meant to be installed on one computer. You need the retail pack, as pictured above.
