View Full Version : I have my own DAV server. Can I somehow trick OS X into thinking this is MobileMe?

I have my own server running FreeBSD and access via WebDAV. Can I somehow make OS X that it is a MobileMe "cloud" so I don't actually have to buy it?

I guess I could find other ways to duplicate MM's functionality:

- MAIL: Gmail is sufficient
- CONTACT SYNC: ?
- CALENDAR SYNC: I tried CalDAV, but it only works one way obviously.
- GALLERY/WEB: Self-explanatory. It's a server.

It would however be nice to have the MobileMe web app though.

Is there no way to use your own server as a MM cloud?
Is there a similar service that lets you do this?

Thanks

There was a contest with a $10,000 reward for someone to come up with an open-source .Mac replacement, but the website that hosted it isn't up anymore. (Which is weird, because I thought someone won it)
