Hi
I'm planning to get GarageBand just to fool around and such. Since I only plan to record through my internal condensor mic (i'm too cheap to buy a digital-analog interface) I will be doing a lot of dubbing and stuff. How many tracks can GarageBand record? Thanks:D

As much as your CPU can handle, up to a limit of 64 tracks, I believe.

Another way of saying "as many as your CPU can handle" is to ask what kind of CPU you've got.
I have a dual-800 Quicksilver, and the heftiest of the GarageBand demo songs (8 or 10 tracks?) starts to turn my slider icon red (that means the CPU is nearing its limits).
Others have experimented and found that if you use lots of software instruments, you can max out a 1GHz system with as few as six or eight tracks, but if you use real instruments or record your own parts you can get lots more tracks down.
If you drag your software instrument part onto a real instrument track, GarageBand appears to "render" the part into a real instrument track, so that should let you get more tracks if you start to push the limits of your hardware.
Cheers,
