What app do you use for the weather?

Weatherbug and Meteorology, which I think Meteorology was pulled from the app store for using the weather channel maps, but I love it.

I've been testing out a few different weather apps lately - there are actually some new ones in the mix that are pretty comprehensive

The one with the most detailed forecasts for me so far has been WeatherEye - it looks like this:

Being a bit of a weather junkie, I do like the more minor details. Anyone else tried this one yet?

I use the default app almost exclusively. Simply because every other app I've tried only shows a max of 3 days without having to scroll. I like opening a program and seeing the entire week. I rarely need more detailed information.

I have been using fizz weather. It has the current weather, 2 day afternoon/night forecasts, radar maps, 5 day outlook, etc..

It's great to get all of these perspectives - I have tried some of these apps, but others are new to me. I'm going to give a few more that were suggested a try tonight.

@Alchematron I had been interested in humidity too, which is one of the details that a lot of the apps leave out. The screenshot that I posted above (of weathereye) shows humidity + wind speed...those extra details are making it my top choice right now.

I hate the humidity! Especially in DC. Although if you live further south, you're prob thinking oh, DC humidity is nothing

I had Weatherbug and TWC. I like TWC a bit more because I like the hour by hour weather forecasts - that makes it my favorite weather app. And best of all, it's free.

I tried WeatherEye (thanks for mentioning it), but I deleted it pretty quickly. I noted that there were numerous reviews that panned it for not having sunrise/sunset times (which, I guess, would be nice, although I don't miss them with what I have now).

I went back to using TWC... my feelings...

WeatherEye:
- Very pretty. The interface is probably among the most elegant of iPhone apps I've used.
- Reasonably fast.
- The short term page shows the daily high instead of current + hi/lo. This is kind of irritating, since it defaults to this view (e.g. today's daily high is around 20F here, but it's only 6F now, in the late morning... there's a fair difference between 20 and 6F!)
- I also noticed a number of reviews that panned it for not having the user's location. This was not an issue in itself for me (if it didn't have Chicago, it would be completely ridiculous). On the other hand, it isn't location aware, and it only has a single weather location for the entire city, whereas all other apps offer information based on one of several weather sites for Chicago.

TheWeatherChannel:
- Not nearly as pretty.
- Location aware (I really do like this, as it makes the app that much quicker to use, as opposed to having to manually add in places when you're traveling) PLUS it has a full database of locations, so it will give me weather on the North side of the city when I'm there and weather down here when I'm here.
- The fact that you can get a video forecast clip from TWC television is cute, but gimmicky (I don't remember to use it very often, but I like the idea, and if I thought about it, I'd watch it more).

So for now, I'll stick with TWC.

for example to check weather for another city in TWC you have to first click the location button, then click a second time on your choice, vs WeatherEye or the built in weather app where you can simply swipe to flick through all your favourite cities - much faster and more convenient. If you only care about 1 location, then this won't matter to you, but it's a big difference if you like to easily check several cities.

The screens are less cluttered and better formatted in WeatherEye than TWC too, making it easier to at a glance see what you need - has something to do with their choice of fonts, colour and layout.

Got two on my homepage: i.wund.com (weather underground) for details, forcast, & discussion...and apple. accuweather.com for animated radar. Actually they both have animated Doppler but accuweather defaults to it. Both web apps are free and are extremely accurate.

I'm a big fan of MyWeather Mobile, but I really don't remember paying $10 for it. I like the full animated radar feature and contact level lookup options.
