What is the limit on filling up an iPhone with music/videos/apps etc before it starts to slow down? I have an 8GB iPhone 3G

I'm pretty sure the amount of stuff you have on your iPhone does not determine whether it slows down or not. So just fill it up baby!!!!! :D

I have only 1.1 GB left of my 14.9 GB on my iPhone, but it still runs smooth as butter.

im not sure if iPhone OS X writes virtual memory so just to be safe leave about 128MB free wich is how much RAM an iPhone has.

Even if you fill the space up completely in iTunes, the iPhone still has some pre-allocated space that it will use for stuff like Safari cache and other temporary data, so you have nothing to worry about.

I usually have less than 10Mb free on my iphone at any given time .... no real problems that i could attribute to that...

In all seriousness. The 14.9GB is all available to you for your consumption. The OS may require 128-256MB of virtual memory but rest assured it's a component of the 1.1GB lost to bytes/bits calculation.
