New Hampshire State senate is the first state legislative body in the nation to have more women than men.

We'll start to see more of this in other legislatures as time goes on.

I'd also bet that as a gesture to the women that voted for him, Obama will be appointing two women to the Supreme Court.

I think this year also marks a new record for women in the US Senate. IIRC we're up to 17 on January 3rd.

Very cool. Its great that women are getting through these "gender barriers" with relative ease now.

My only fear, as a woman myself, is that people will think "give it to her because she is a woman" instead of "give it to her because she is the best." But I guess that is a concern with any sort of up and coming "minority".
