Thinking about either buying the older ACD's, 20", vs. a Dell or Samsung 24" display. How would the older ACD's compare?

Well you wouldn't have the old ACD has a mirror when it hits light 😉

I'm kidding, I've yet to see the new Apple Displays in person

I actually really like the new glossy displays, but considering they cost $900, I'll need to set my sights to something more affordable.

It's the most affordable H-IPS LED display on the market by around $400.

Not to mention the microphone, speakers, and camera.

I'm not arguing that its a fantastic display, but at $900, I just can't afford it. A 24" Dell, similarily priced, would be around $400.

I dont need the mic, speakers, or iSight, as I can just use those features built in my MacBook. The IPS panels aren't useful to me as I don't do much photo or video editing.

That's a whole freakin' lot for a display! My MacBook I am getting in a few weeks (Recent gen, white, 2.1 GHz) is $999.99 and the price might drop some before I pick it up

Wait... 😀

You must mean speced, and I've already said that it isn't. If all you care about is resolution, go ahead and get a cheaper display, of course.

Sorry, I don't even remember what I was thinking...I must've meant that their screen sizes are the same. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I don't have one, but I've seen one. The quality is great! With a Dell or Samsung, in my opinion, the picture does not look as good. I would go with the old ACD and sacrifice the 4 inches that you would get on another LCD.

Right, but 900 bucks is a lot of money for a display and in my opinion priced too high for the average consumer. Apple should make a consumer panel IMO.
