Hi,

I'm looking for an opensource PHP front/backend for quicktime server.

On the admin side I would need it to upload/manage videos and enter metadata (title, genre, etc...). A cocoa app would be great here.

The front end for the user would list the videos and allow searching/sorting.

I found Navicast http://www.navicast.se/ but I would prefer an opensource project so I can tweak it.

Does any one know of anything?

Thanks!

Cocoa is an Objective-C framework written for Mac OS X for apps running on your Mac desktop. This kind of "front end" we can't help you with, you posted in a web developer and design forum.

But for PHP and other open source solutions:

A freeware alternative to Navicast for PHP/VOD is can be found here. Looks a bit cheesy, but it's free.

Here is an open source VOD solution at SourceForget.net, desktop based VOD with Internet streaming written in Java.

Here is a tutorial for open source VOD in general, a "do it yourself" approach.

Maybe someone else has some suggestions beyond this.
