Just wondering, is there some feed or some way to determine which apps are on sale?

(looking at this from a dev perspective...)

I know there are some sites/tools that list on-sale apps, but how are they determining what is on sale?

I believe it's an RSS feed from Apple containing the prices, descriptions, etc. Couldn't tell you where it's coming from, but that's the only thing I can think of.

It is perfect for this. IT iwll list all apps on sale as they are posted, along with new releases. You will pay for the $.99 the first time you find somthing that's on sale.

www.appshopper.com

don't forget that in addition to the website itself, appshopper.com also has RSS feeds for the various categories, e.g. you can easily track all price changes, or new free apps, just new apps, etc

very convenient way to check what's new each day.

get the free NetNewsWire RSS reader for the iPhone, put the feeds in there and easily keep an eye out directly on your iPhone.

As I said, I'm looking at this from a developer's perspective...

so I wonder, how is appshopper building their database of the apps? Is there an RSS feed or do they have people manually fill in the data/prices?

appsniper from the appstore does an excellent job at this.
