White MB - External Monitor - DVI-D or VGA?

Hey folks!

I've searched the Apple site and I've searched these forums, but haven't found a conclusive answer to a simple question:

I want to buy this monitor to use with my White MacBook (early 2008 - 2GHz):

The monitor offers both VGA and a DVI-D ports. I'm assuming that it makes more sense to connect using DVI-D than VGA? Which would mean, I'm assuming that I should buy this:

My Dell monitor has both connections but only VGA allows contrast adjustment, which is essential to me as a photographer when calibrating my screen. I used DVI at first before discovering this. The picture quality is identical.
 
I have both adapters, I carry a VGA around for presentations and use a DVI with my monitor at home. VGA works fine, but DVI definitely seems crisper, for whatever reason. I would say get the DVI.
