Reliability of early intel iMacs

If I'm looking at buying a second hand iMac should I stay away from the Core Duo and only look at Core 2 Duo? Are there any known hardware failures for these models?

personally, my core duo imac gave me no problems. but unless there was a huge price difference, I would hold out for a c2d.
