I accidentally inserted an installation disc for Microsoft Office that was only meant for Windows Computers. My macbook does not recognize it and I can't find any way to eject the disc. I can hear the disc drive humming like it's trying to read the disc, so I don't know what I need to do to get it out. If at all possible I would like to avoid a trip to the Apple Store because it's a ways away from me and if I can work this out without going through that trouble I would much rather do that. Does anyone know how I can solve this problem? It would be greatly appreciated if I could get some advice.

Something like this happened with me one time so I tried completely restarting the computer, and as it was booting up, I held down the eject button. Try this, and hopefully it will work. Good luck.

Try force ejecting the disc by opening Terminal (it is in the Utilities folder of your Applications folder) and type in the following:

Code:
drutil tray eject

If that doesn't work, type:

Code:
drutil tray open

Hope that helps.
