Transfering VHS to PowerBook

First, I hope this is the correct forum for this question.

I recently purchased a PowerBook G4 12". I was wondering if there was a way to transfer video from a VHS tape into the mac for editing. Also if the equipment I would need is the Mini DVI to Video Adapter.

No, you would need something like this (http://www.usb-ware.com/ads-usb-instant-dvd-for-mac.htm). I've never used one, but I'm sure others in this forum have.

The mini-DVI to video adapter is for going the other way--sending Mac images/DVDs to TV or VCR.
