If I redeemed an app through a Promo Code on iTunes, can I still download the app from the iPhone for free or do I have to pay? Just making sure. Thanks.

If you redeem the app on iTunes on your PC, once installed in iTunes it will sync to your iPhone and any updates will remain free. Redeeming an app is the same as buying it.

Just one caveat - if you redeem in another country store, you will only see updates when logged into that country store. ie if your "base" account is UK and you buy/redeem in USA, you will not get notified by iTunes about updates unless you log out of the UK account and then log into the USA account. (this applies to purchases as well)

Yes, it will just say that the app has already been purchased and can be downloaded for free.
