I've bought a domain which now links to my iWeb/MobileMe website, but can I have an email address that matches it (instead of xxx@me.com could I have xxx@bananas.co.uk, for example)?

You'd need to setup your email with your provider though. GoDaddy and other big domain sellers provide you with a basic webservice that includes email usually. Consult your service aggreement.

Thanks, but that's for a different issue.

I'm with 1&1 and, you're right, it does come with an email forwarding thing, but because I've linked the web address to MobileMe, it doesn't work.

"Linked" as in "DNS points to your MobileMe site"?
You need to ask your DNS operator to keep the MX of your domain pointing to the mailserver you were using.
