Blueyonder Self install for Macs (England)

Has anyone tried to connect to Blueyonder using the selfinstall pack? They say it only for PC users but a friend is trying it out on a Mac. What you do is use the built in cable modem in your set-top box just plugin the eathernet cable from the back to your Mac and pair up is MAC address with your IP no need for a technician to visit... if any one has tried this or knows any reason why it should not work, fine on PC why dont they support the service officially for Macs?

I dont know about the self install, but Blueyonder have a peculiar policy about Macs. They only support 10, 10.1 and 10.2, but once you get talking to the technical support they know all about Panther but they risk getting fired if they support it. Go figure.
