i cant imagine them not replacing it, what with all the things theyre replacing 3Gs for (when the screen is on in the dark, i can see light! this is bad)
I'm not 100% sure but i think due to the different chemical properties of water and alcohol, the indicator would still be intact.
So I'm missing calls because I can't hear my 2G iPhone's speaker anymore.

Take it into Apple. Why dick around with alcohol and possibly tripping the moisture sensor if you're under AC?
