Safari, Firefox and iChat not connecting...but Skype works fine?

Hey guys, in a bit of a dilemma here.

My girlfriend was doing her senior paper, and while she was trying to work out one of the sources, her firefox started to not work, like not load pages...and then she tried safari, which did the exact same thing. Weird part is, we were on Skype the entire time this was happening. So I suggested that we use iChat and use screen sharing, so that she could just basically use my internet. And iChat wouldn't connect either. So she tried restarting her macbook, and it still isn't letting her connect.

Anybody have any suggestions or thoughts?
