has anybody improved its range?
Last I heard, the 802.11g stuff was severely limited in its ability to transmit over 802.11b-comparable distances or through walls.
Has anybody seen a company claim to overcome these limitations?
My guess is that the shipped products will operate at 54Mbit only in very ideal conditions. (Like your machine is in the same room with the base station.) Through walls and over distance, expect it to behave a little more like 802.11b.
Provided the price is right, and they can prevent network connections from dropping completely within reasonable distances, I'll buy it.
