MBP 17" - what's the difference in the "High Res" screen?

I was shopping for a MBP refurb and noticed two of the same computers except one says "high-resolution" and is a little more expensive. What exactly is the difference between these two machines? I'm guessing the hi-res came out later; does anyone know when Apple started shipping the hi-res version? Still new to apple and trying to catch up on my MBP history 🙂 Thanks.

They were available at the same time.

Normal screen is 1650x1050, Hi-Res screen is 1920x1200.

yeah similar question, does the difference between those resolutions make a big difference when viewing it?

well, I'm sure you could have calculated yourself that you can squeeze 33% more information on the higher resolution screen, meaning you can have more windows open and view images in higher resolution.

i meant the quality of the screen itself, not the real estate you get while using it.
