Someone has given me a PowerMac 440/200, which I'm hoping to set up for the cousin.

It has a modem connection, I think - there's an icon of a phone on the back, anyway - but it's not an RJ11 connection, rather a mouseish-looking connection with a horseshoe shape and I think 13 pin holes.

Will I be able to connect this to an RJ11 phone line, or is it for an external modem?

I'm guessing this is a 4400? According to http://www.apple-history.com, there is a "comm slot".

I had a 6200, which had the same case, and the modem was a little board which could be taken out and replaced with something else. In my case, I replaced it with an ethernet card.

I'm not familiar with a device that would have a 13-pin "horseshoe" connector, but I'd venture it's not a modem.
