I've got a G4 running Panther with four shared drives attached. Two appear as they should on the desktop and in the sidebar. The other two only appear in the sidebar. Finder privileges are set to show in both places. Privileges are identical for all four drives.
If this was an isolated machine, I could probably live with the problem, but these drives are used daily by a dozen artists. The two drives that do not appear on the desktop of the local drive will not appear in either sidebar or desktop on remote computers. They can't be ejected because there is no icon or alias anywhere. To eject them users have to restart.
How can I get these two to appear on the desktop? Why are they whacked?
