equation editor

Hi,

I am trying to type some equations for a mathematics exam,
on a g4 powermac, with Microsoft Office X ... which i've been
using since January 2004.

I can't find the MS Equation Editor 3.0 that usually sits
in Word (insert / object).

Is there a way to get this software (I am dizzy from visiting
MS office's website!) or is there another software that I can
use so that my radicals, fractions, and integrals look like they
are supposed to.

well the absolute best typesetting program is Latex. But you will need to learn it. If you are willing to do that here is a nice interface download (http://www.uoregon.edu/~koch/texshop/texshop.html)

The MS Equation Editor is available on the Office install CD, in the extras section. If you poke around in the long list of stuff the installer can add-on, it's in there somewhere. Haven't personally used it on X yet, but I've installed it on a couple of computers.

Equation Editor isn't part of the default Word package, it has to be installed from the "Value pack" folder on the Microsoft Office Install disk. It's one of the "shared applications".
