FS: Powerbook G4 500, busted optical drive

500mhz Titanium Powerbook g4
512mb ram
20gb hard drive
Airport card
Extra battery
Slip case

The main issue is the optical drive doesn't work. It is a dvd-rom drive, when you put a disk in it makes a lot of noise as the disk spins up, and only reads the disk occasionaly.

It was my father's initially, my brother has been using it the last year or so. He asked me to investigate selling it for him.

macresq.com will put a brand new superdrive in it for you for about $300.

steveolio- cash would be preferable, but I might consider the ibook as a last resort.

cubist- That looks like a good resource (and I noticed they have refurbished combo drives for 200), but I'd really rather not put any more money into the computer.
