I remember there were a number of articles online suggesting that the new Aluminum MacBook freeze up or hang when third party RAM is installed. Is this still the case? I plan on upgrading to 4GB but obviously don't want my MacBook to suffer.

Here is a link to one such article from Computerworld: http://www.computerworld.com/action/article.do?command=viewArticleBasic&articleId=9122905&intsrc=hm_list

as far as i know, the problem still persists. but, it doesn't happen to everyone. in fact, i would guess that it happens to less than half (just a guess!). the thing to do is make sure you purchase your RAM from a vendor who will happily exchange the RAM, like OWC or Crucial. Fear of kernel panics is no reason to NOT buy RAM
