Macbook pro to 22 inch cinema display

I would like to hook it up to this

if you are referring to this one

then you will definitely need a mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter ($29)

and depending on the ACD, you might need an DVI to ADC adapter ($99)

how could i tell on the ACD?

The clear plastic displays are ACD, whereas the ones with the aluminum case are just good ol' DVI.

EDIT: whoops... looks like one model (http://www.designedinca.com/peripherals/displays/cinema/aug1999/22inch/) of the 22" plastic displays were DVI.
