So, any mods, arn or demis know what happened to them?

There was a snafu when the new forum first went up where non-demis could access the private forum. I'm pretty sure arn just eliminated all access for the time being, until he sorts out some other upgrade issues.

Not really. Only thing that happened was applemacdude posting in private discussion.

It's where they put all of the naughty eyelikeart photos. Very disturbing. 20/20 sent in an undercover investigator, it was like seeing 10mm.

Was this guy banned because all of his posts are essentially, "I agree?"

yeah, I noticed this earlier...Delayed response I guess, heh...I have been kind of wondering about it waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay in the back of my mind, and while I was browsing this thread I figured I'd ask. Speaking of which, my question still stands.

Yeah, look at the search results for all of his posts (http://forums.macrumors.com/search.php?searchid=324078)...kind of funny to look at, though I dunno if he meant to never have anything new to say, or if he just liked to add little comments here and there. I wouldn't say he deserved to be banned for that unless he was doing it intentionally.

In reading his posts I don't see any reason for his banning. Maybe he was just keeping short? In my opinion there are far more annoying posters than he.
As far as the Private forums goes, I wish I had the chance to sneak a peek, would be interesting to see what stays private. Especially in the mod forums.

I reported him to the moderators, and he was banned shortly after. I think his banning is justified. He was spamming, plain and simple. If you don't have anything meaningful to add, don't post.

and why do you care so much if the guy says " i agree" or whatever?
what is the big deal?

Spam is against the rules. Posting 2 word replies every minute or two from 12:46PM-2:04PM (approximately 75 posts) definitely qualifies as spam.
Not sure why folks are having a hard time understanding this...

I remember running into his "posts" in almost every thread I clicked on that afternoon. It really ticked me off.

I think with something like this, it's not so much the content of the post as it is the scrolling required. Nobody likes to scroll. When you have to scroll that much more (times 75) because some guy just wants to say "I agree," it's kind of distracting. It definitly detracts from the experience.
Brief affirmative responses are ok every now and then, but if it's all you're doing then you're not adding to the community.

I doubt that.... you just said "Sammy D" in your post, and it wasn't bleeped.
or is SammyD bleeped?
or Urdam?
I haven't been around long enough to know who you are talking about, so I have no clue how his/her name was spelled.
Nope, the "Preview Post" button doesn't show any of those as being bleeped. (And yes, the language filter is applied already in the preview pane.)
