My MobileMe free trial expired on 23rd November, but I had happily been using my account until 13th December when it just decided to stop working. I can't receive or send any emails, but can't work out how to fix it. I'm sure this isn't due to not buying MobileMe as you're not paying for the email, but the other features right?

I'm getting this error...

There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Check the settings for account “.Mac” or try again.

The server error encountered was: The connection to the server “mail.mac.com” on port 993 timed out.

Also tells me to check the password, which is definitely correct.

I'm so frustrated.

Any help would be grand, cheers.

No, that is because you didn't buy it. The email address is a part of the service. If you don't continue your subscription, you lose the address.

Even though it continued working for another month or so after?

I'm not sure I can afford the £60 for mobile me though.

I cannot imagine that the server would be managing user accounts to the exact instant that they need to be deleted. If you cannot renew your account, you need to find a new email address.
