iTunes: Slower than a dog turd in January

This past month, iTunes has become a real turd for me. More BeachBall of Death action than I've ever seen. I thought it might be due to an install of iLike, but after deleting that app...iTunes still hangs on the simplest of requests.

Double click a different tune? HANG/BeachBall of Death

Scroll my playlist? HANG/BeachBall of Death

I'm a salty ol' Mac user and try not to cry too quickly, but this one's got me stumped. Think I should delete iTunes and start from scratch?

It might help to rebuild your iTunes library file.

It might be something like a permissions flaw (and I don't believe repairing permissions touches your iTunes library).

Are you running Genius? I turned mine off and noticed a HUGE difference.

Mine is sooo slow as well I'm going to turn off genius and try that permissions tip tonight.
