Though I often feel your sentiment, I agree with übergeek, there is a purpose of every device that exists - otherwise, they wouldn't exist.

One can say the same in defense of Macintosh.

Please try to refrain from biting a hand that could help...

My SA at school seems to defend Microsoft very staunchly, and jokes about Apple - it took us 2-4 years to get the Apple equipment we needed for the music and meda departments through!!

I feel that as an OS Mac OS X is probably one of the best around, certainly streets ahead of windows, but for the task windows has been set - to work, and work well on any possible configuration of hardware (within reason).

For my money, XP is certainly the best windows yet - and I do have a wide range of games I like to play on it... but within the next 10 years I intend to completely switch to Mac's for all my computer needs and buy a game console for my gaming needs...

And yes, I do realise this is old news... there's another thread, but I only just found it!

i use my PC for software development purposes (VPC totally sucks when it comes to running some apps like VS.net). I use my PC for gaming (maybe once in a blue moon). I use my PC to do physical things I can't do with a Mac (whoever heard of a case modded watercooled Power Mac G5 :p ). I use my PC to do my homework. I use my PC as a server. I use my PC to run some new OS i've been dying to try out. I take out a lot of my anger out on the PC, but I do that on my Mac too. Just remember that Windows is NOT the only OS you can use on an x86 machine :) ;).
