View Full Version : Power Managing controls missing on uni Mb

So On my Macbook Unibody i am missing the controls for the Power managing, the place where i can set the Speed step settings like "high performance" and stuff like that, my old White macbook has them(Tiger)... but the unibody doesen't ?? did apple kill the settings oO :eek:

assuming you're running leopard, it should be there.

System Preferences --> Energy Saver

there's a dropdown menu for battery/power adapter
then another one "optimization"

the second one should have performance/normal/betterbatterylife/custom

my 2.4 MB is missing this as well, running 10.5.6. i just puchased it a few weeks ago. did this setting go away with the latest update???

they've gone from the menu bar. Still there in Sys Prefs though.

There's no optimization drop-down in sys prefs or anywhere else on my 1.4ghz alubook - it's not been there since I bought it.

If you tried a search, you would come up with a bunch of threads on this, or info on Google...
But the new Unibody machines don't have that power management feature anymore. The only way to control the battery life now is screen brightness, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth....

They don't have that anymore....they use to have it on the older update....They've changed it on 10.5.6 I believe.

oh man any 3rd poarty apps available? I want my CPU to stay LOW while i am using it on battery power!!! is there any app that will i.e turn OFF bluetooth, set speedstep to the lowest level? :eek:
