All of them. I have been doing it that way since about 1978 when I left home and bought my own house. White Album, Bold As Love, Rust Never Sleeps, Blood On The Tracks, Combat Rock, The Specials, EC Was Here, Layla, Working Man's Dead, Second Helping...

I've recently been playing John Legend's Once Again over and over... a brilliant album, I'm amazed that I only recently discovered it, despite owning his first album for all these years.

Most of my Jazz albums I listen to straight through... the classics of course as The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady and A Love Supreme really can't be heard on an À la carte basis.

Some just deserve to be listened to start to finish -
Moody Blues - Days of Future Passed
Vangelis - Blade Runner
Enigma - any of them.

Any recording of Bach's Musical Offering or Art of Fugue I generally listen to in full in one sitting. I also listen to recording's of Vivaldi's Op 3 fully, though listening to those in full are not as often than me listening to separate concerti.

Shostakovich symphonies I generally listen to in full as well, given that one of his symphonies usually occupy the entirety of a disc.

Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon
Metallica: Ride the Lightning
Incubus: Science
The Grateful Dead: Skeletons in the Closet

Mozart: 24, 25, 26, 27 (some random classical disc I found, but I love it)
Smashing Pumpkins: Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness (disc 1)
The Allman Brothers: Greatest Hits
Jimi Hendrix: Axis: Bold As Love

That's just a few....

I heart music.

Agree, excellent choices. Pink Floyd, many of their albums, Mozart (Piano Concertos 20-29), Yann Tiersen "Amalie", Philip Glass "Symphony No 2", Beirut "Gulag Orkestar", and "The Flying Club Cup", Buena Vista Social Club, Leonard Cohen "I'm Your Man", and sundry others.

Cheers and good luck

I have to play Flood by They Might Be Giants straight through, in order. One weekend when I was in college, a friend and I decided to take a midnight drive. We drove for like 14 hours that night, and that was the only tape I had in my car, so we spent a lot of time singing along with that album. It took me a couple of years to be able to deal with the album on CD, 'cause there was no pause in music where the tape flip used to be. Today, if you want to completely mess with my head, put in that album on random shuffle.

Another album that I've been listening to straight through is Trinity Revisited by Cowboy Junkies. It's such a great album.

theres quite a bit now that collect old LPs and CD/Albums...
I have this random assortment of Annette Hanshaw songs (96 total) that tend to last quite awhile, so i play those and just doze into history of how music was composed back then and what it was all about.

Laibach's Volk and WAT are ones i enjoy going from start to end
YeahYeahYeahs: Fever To Tell
The Killers: Hot Fuss

Dont really consider myself fans of their work or really musicians per se, but if there were junkfood for "music" these would be it...theres something about the weird element they put into their.....work, i can listen to for no real reason:

Radiohead - Kid A
Radiohead - OK Computer
Radiohead - Hail To The Thief
Radiohead - Amnesiac
Radiohead - In Rainbows
Coldplay - Parachutes
Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion
Animal Collective - Feels
Animal Collective - Sung Tongs
Panda Bear - Person Pitch
Zero 7 - Simple Things
The National - Alligator
The National - Boxer
Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago

You can't NOT listen to a Radiohead album all the way through, that's the whole point.
Same with Animal Collective/Panda Bear.
Coldplay - Parachutes is a pretty much perfect album, so that's just enjoyable..
And The National make beautiful music, so why change it?
Bon Iver just grabs you and doesn't let go until the end, so you can't help yourself.

Actually most albums are usually more like a collection of loosely related short stories. Not a novel. Hence there are stories you can skip. I, for instance, regularly skip "Something in the Way" from an otherwise exceptional album.

The persons who posted here more than likely own more than the albums they listed but skip tracks on those albums but enjoy those albums otherwise. Certainly enjoy the work as the artist intended but unfortunately for the artist I am the end user. I can skip tracks, take tracks and place them in playlists completely unrelated and with other artists the artist may despise. Such is the risk of putting your work up for public consumption.

I may for instance choose to put "Shine on You Crazy Diamond, Pts. 1-5" & "Shine on You Crazy Diamond, Pts. 6-9" back to back and move the rest of the album from between those tracks to the end. Certainly not the way the artist intended but the way I may prefer. Or I may chose to listen to "I Don't Believe in Love" and ignore the rest of the album. Just as I may start a book and not finish it. Read the end first or simply skip the boring parts.

That is the wonderful thing about art. It is ...

I tend to agree. Though there are albums that create a more full effect when played all the way though (a few Pink Floyd albums come to mind) most albums are so loosely connected that skipping songs hardly damages the feel.

Here are the ones I tend to play all the way through:

Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd
Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd
Animals - Pink Floyd
Meddle - Pink Floyd
The Wall - Pink Floyd
Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume 1: From Fear Through The Eyes of Madness - Coheed and Cambria
The Artist In The Ambulance - Thrice
Vheissu - Thrice
The Devil and God Are Raging Inside of Me - Brand New
Deja Entendu - Brand New

Solo ~ Yo-yo Ma
Bach Cello Suites ~ Yo-yo Ma
Tusk ~ Fleetwood Mac
The Cream of Clapton ~ Eric Clapton, Cream, Derek & the Dominos, Blind Faith

Surprisingly few for me (but I accept that it is very rare to buy an album where there isn't a track which grates and you just automatically skip it after a few listens), so this is a list where I can honestly say I would not skip a single track:

Good Humor - Saint Etienne;
The Joshua Tree - U2;
Zooropa - U2;
Come On Over - Shania Twain;
If I Don't Stay The Night - Mindy McCready;
Wide Open Spaces - The Dixie Chicks; and
Greatest Hits - Run DMC (although this all starts sounding the same after a while so I am not sure if I have listened to it straight through).

I ALWAYS listen to my albums straight through. Its sort of an OCD type habit of mine. But some of my favorite albums are:

Pearl Jam- Self Titled
Pearl Jam- Yield
Pearl Jam- No Code (honestly any PJ album, they are my favorite band of all time)
Soundgarden- Down on the Upside (fav SG album easily)
Soundgarden- Superunknown
Phish- A face of nectar (?...forgot the name)
The Who- Quadrophenia
Tea Leaf Green- Self Titled (AMAZING)
King Of Leon- Only by Night
Dave Matthews Band- Before These Crowded Streets

etc etc etc.... These are just a random few. I listen to exclusively albums. Im not a radio hit, put my ipod on shuffle kind of guy.

There are quite a few actually, but my top 3 for pure atmosphere:

The English Beat I Just Can't Stop It - They weren't around long, but the music that they produced while they were a unit still rock. Timeless crunchy ska beats. And no, I would not like a reunion-- I'd like to remember them as they were back in their prime.

Goldfrapp Felt Mountain - The perfect soundtrack to a frozen, icy neverending winter's night-- or to a classic Sean Connery Bond film. Only Goldfrapp can conjure up the mood and atmosphere of a surreal Brothers Grimm fairy tale mixed with film noir.

Digable Planets Blowout Comb - Hip hop, acid jazz and the power of the Black Panther. Brooklyn never sounded so creamy.
