Wow-- no love for the brilliant Goldfrapp?!?!
Fantastic track from an even more fantastic album: Black Cherry started the whole electro/glam disco movement of the earlier part of the century. What set Goldfrapp apart from being just another electronic-glam duo-- although those amazing synths and beats were top notch, is Alison Goldfrapp's unbelievable pipes. Her icy-cool voice swirls and soars like the accompanying electro beats, and never seems to break a sweat (yes, even when singing live!).

Every so often I dust off Black Cherry and give it a listen. Its a good album but I've always been more drawn to Felt Mountain...perhaps because it feels more like a slinky Bond album.
I'll agree with you that Crystalline Green is pretty boss...not as cool as Twist, but, a fun listen.

Completely agree-- Felt Mountain is perfection. The style, the mood, the melodies, her look, her voice; that voice: eerie, aching, haunting, yearning, like some long-forgotten cabaret noir, torch singer. Which made Black Cherry the more intriguing; knowing she has that voice, but decided to go full head-on electro-disco with Black Cherry and Supernature. And the earthy and folky Seventh Tree is equally amazing-- like a sunny evolution of the dark and icy Felt Mountain, but retains the surreal and dreamy mood of their first album.
