I have a 2006 hammy down MacBook from my older brother who is at college now. I'm fairly new to the Mac community and enjoying it so far. My MB normally runs around 150-160 degrees fahrenheit when surfing the web and doing a little photoshop work. When burning a DVD or when playing some java based games it will heat up to around 170-180. When my computer is idle though it stays around 135-145 degrees. Is this normal? It seems a little warm.
CPU running at 138 degrees fahrenheit

Very normal. I usually get the same temperatures when I play World of Warcraft on my Santa Rosa.
Get a cooling pad, I like this one:

Drops the temperature a considerable amount.
I'd report temperatures in Celsius next time you have a temperature question with computers, because 9/10 people *even in the States* will have to annoyingly
translate Fahrenheit to Celsius to find out whether or not that's normal.
Food for thought xD......

@Jpoon
I'll check out that cooling pad, and next time I will translate it to Celsius.
Thanks for the help.

It may be a tad warmer than what I have noted, but only by 5 degrees or so.
This is a normal temperature, and I don't think there is anything to worry about.
