Does anyone know what an iSight can be used for besides iChat? Are there any software out there that can make use of the iSight for... say security, or just snap shots, or video taking etc?

thanks!

Search for iSight on versiontracker.com. There's some good stuff there.

If you have iMovie 4 (the version available in the new iLife '04), then you can capture video from the iSight into iMovie.

there a bunch of freeware programs out there that let you capture to .mpg and take snapshots.

Camspinner and GCAM - both pretty much the same program, one is a beta and expires, the other is freeware and doesn't expire. Can't remember which is which right now....maybe GCAM is the better one.

Play some Games already. The demo only allows one of the games, but it is a really unique and neat idea. Have fun!

one might think you'd try to justify it BEFORE you bought it :p

there are also a bunch of iChat sights designed to have random people look at each other....err something.

evocam is a very solid little webcam package that I highly recommend.

i like the idea of that toysight.
it's just like that TV thing for a PS2. if they could bundle stuff like that with iSight, and add a few more things like take snapshots in iChat AV, it could really sell. i'd buy on almost instantly.

Get http://www.macmice.com/gcam.html if you didn't get it already.
It's a fine little program, that lets you record movies from your iSight.

Does anyone else think it would be cool to hook up and isight to an ipod...kina like a low cost video recorder?
