Just one MacBook Pro myself. I switched last summer, after about 2 years of pondering whether or not to.

But I plan on buying many more Mac's in the future.... Probably (when they get released in next refresh) a Mac Mini and a 20"/24" Cinema Display, for university. After a few years when I have the money, upgrade the Mac mini to a Mac Pro where I can do some powerful video/photo/web editing stuff after Uni.

Although I have an iPod touch and a iPod shuffle... do they count??

Ooo, boy. Let me think:

Desktops:
1. MacPlus (First computer of the household, b/w, played a hell of a lot of tetris)
2. 2fx (My brothers, the first with internet)
3. G3 (Last computer with Mac Classic. Went from family computer, to mothers first computer. Finally died in 2004)
4. G5 (Went from family computer, to my computer. Still working and running Panther. Thinking of upgrading to Tiger)
5. MacMini (Mothers computer, runs Tiger)
Laptops:
1. 12" G4 PowerBook (Bought in 2004. Has survived: summer in India, winter in Ottawa, summer in Montreal, trips to four European countries, a 6' drop onto cement, and its own powerbrick landing on its trackpad from 4'. Still works perfectly, only the track pads broken and the casing looks like its been through hell)
2. MacBook Pro (Bought in December 2006 and given to my Brother)
3. White MacBook (2.4 GHz, bought in October, technically my mothers but really I use it)

We have been a mac household from our very first computer. Though there was a PC desktop and laptop and a Sun workstation in the house at times.

Taegre (My first post, yay!)

I have worked in the interactive media field as a creative director/designer/ developer since 1995. I know I am forgetting a few here...

Past:
-----------
Quadra 700
Quadra 840AV
Power Macintosh 7500
Power Macintosh 8100
Power Macintosh 8500
Power Macintosh G3 (beige)
Power Macintosh G3 (blue and white)
PowerBook Duo 280c
G3 Pismo Powerbook
(2) G4 powerbook (15)
G4 Powerbook (12)
White ibook G4
G5 Imac
Power Mac g5

I also owned at least 2 mac clones back in the day... a bit after that time I left the mac for a while in favor of PCs and SGI workstations. I came back somewhere after the release of the blue and white G4 and OSX.

Current:
---------
Intel Imac
Mac Pro
Macbook Pro
Macbook Air
(3) Mac Minis

I get a new powerbook from work every two years. Thats why there are so many... my newest mac is a macbook air, an absolutely fabulous machine.

I have only personally owned 3 Macs. And since we're listing off the models, here it goes:

1. 15" Powerbook G4 (early 2005)
2. 15" Macbook Pro (late 2006)
3. 24" iMac (late 2007)

Hmm, I've had an original iMac G3, a G3 PowerBook, a Power Mac G4 MDD, a PowerBook G4 12", a MacBook, and a MacBook Pro. The MacBook Pro went in favor of a Mac Pro and I recently replaced the 12" PowerBook with a new unibody MacBook. Totaled up that makes 8 Macs.

My first one was a 14" iBook G4 1.3GHz which I bought because I couldn't quite afford the 12" PowerBook of the time. After that I got a 1.83GHz Core Duo MacBook, which was replaced a bit later by a 2.2GHz black MacBook. This year, I upgraded that to the 2.0GHz aluminium MacBook, remembering how much I wanted that 12" PowerBook a few years ago.

Out of all of them, I'd say that the iBook was the most reliable, I never had any problems with it at all. My latest MacBook is definitely the worst looking (what were they thinking when they put all of that hideous black plastic on there?) but it has the best constructed case.

Thanks... this has been done quite a bit. This was probably also posted in the wrong forum... should have gone in Community Discussion.

those in my sig, plus a B&W G3, Sawtooth, an eMac, 500 and 700 mhz ibook, and a 3400c . So about 10 or so that I've actually bought myself (didn't buy the Pro though, grant money FTW).

If you throw in Macs I've used before that as hand-me downs from my father, add to that list a 1984, Plus, SE, '89 Mac II, Classic, '91 Quadra 700, color classic, 94 Power Mac, and a 96 Power Mac.

Also had an Apple IIe, IIgs, and a Newton.

I have two now, although my daughter would argue that one is hers. Converted in 2/2008 and never looked back. Although, I have purchased 3 Windows machines since then for my family members. I see no reason to spend so much money to browse the web and check email.;)

One area that I think Apple is missing the boat, is for business (office) users.

Most business users that I know need e-mail, web browsing, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. They don't need iLife type apps. Nor do they need DVD burners.

I wish that Apple would come out with an Intel iMac (C2D, 17 or 20 inch, 2 GB RAM, 80GB HD (small cheap one), and a Combo Drive focused for the typical office. Even eliminate WiFi since most offices use wired LANs. Sell it for $600. Make a deal with Microsoft to have Office 2008 pre-installed at say $650 per unit.

Too bad we'll never see this.

Your opinion could've been valid without the "Windows dependent" categorization. There are many Windows users dependent on me, but I am not dependent on Windows.

Still looking for a 20th Anniversary Mac and an Apple TV.

Bondi Blue 233MHz iMac G3
eMac 1.25GHz G4 Combo
12" iBook G4 1GHz
1.66GHz Core Duo Mac mini
2GHz 17" iMac
2GHz C2D MacBook

Of all of them, the MacBook has been my absolute favorite. Power of the iMac with the portability of the G4 iBook. My favorite design the 12" iBook; always loved that design, and that computer was so portable and fun to use. eMac had the best screen, with it's super crisp CRT. Both iMac's were great machines, and the Intel iMac was my 2nd favorite design. Extremely fast as well; my least favorite the Mac mini, which was slow and had an extremely crappy wireless signal. Only had it for 2 months before upgrading to Intel iMac.

I'm on my fourth own Mac. I've always had iMacs. My first was the very first iMac, the bondi blue 'gumdrop'. It was a delicious machine. Enjoyed it thoroughly. It was a whole lot of machine back then. Never had such a fast and powerful computer. People around me were really jealous, too. Good times! Then, I bought my second iMac, the first 'desk lamp' G4 model. Awesome machine. Was really disappointed to see the 17" model being introduced mere months after I bought my 15" model. Oh well. This is the machine I've used the longest time. Sold it after four and a half years for a small price.

Then, in 2007, I bought the first generation's top-end aluminium iMac. Really nice machine, but as I never used it after I'd bought my MacBook (which I'm using now), I sold it. Got a really good price for it. Last month, I threw away my first, bondi blue iMac. I tried starting it up some time ago, but it turned out to be dead. Therefore, I had no need to keep it any longer, so it had to go.

Before my first iMac, though, I've also used my dad's Macintosh ED, Macintosh SE/30 and Macintosh LCII. Really nice machines, for their time. I remember having computer class in high school and asking where the mouse was. I think all my classmates looked at me as if I was from another planet. They had never heard of a mouse. Fun times!

If I have to restrict it to just Macs then I have had 6. 5 still work ( don't know about the 6th, I sold it). If I can include all my Apple computers, then I have had 14 in total. One of 4 of which were sold long ago. 2 of them were IIc clones- I don't even remember the name of the company anymore.
Never owned a windows machine. I did have a couple of C-64's though.

2. Power Mac G3 beige*
3. iBook Clamshell 366 Firewire* (Tiger works decent with 576 MB RAM. TDM came handy to install it...)

5. Mac Pro 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad*

Would like to own a small footprint Macbook Pro, but unfortunately there is nothing that fits my needs. Unibody, FW800 or PC express slot, matte display, 13" max. (12" would be even better).
