Scanner Problems!

I have just bought a scanner (Epson Perfection 1670) for use with my iMac running Panther.

I got it set up and installed the software without any problems. When i tried to do my first scan, the program went through the process of scanning and just as the progress bar got to the end i got the message:

The application Smart Controller has unexpectedly quit........etc.

the photo is not scanned and the program goes back to the start. This happens every time i try to scan something.

Does anyone know what this might be and what i can do about it?

Check Epson's web site. My brother has a cannon scanner and he had to wait for a driver update before it would work with Panther. Some Jaguar drivers don't work with Panther for some reason.

You might try using Image Capture (in your Applications folder) and tinkering around with it. Other than that, check for current drivers.
