Connecting MBP SR to 23" Cinema Display Performance?

Will connecting a 23" Cinema Display to a Macbook Pro 2.2 GHz Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM, 128 MB GeForce 8600M GT alter the performance of the machine at all? Will expose, dock, and general UI performance be just as good as if extending the display as it is on the MBP screen? Thanks for the help.
 
Everything should be beautiful. I've never experienced ill affects from using an external display on my MBP.
 
The 8600M as an upper-midrange mobile GPU is absolutely able to drive a 1920 display with no problems. It might be working harder, but that's it.
