iPod touch Is there a way for the apple store to tell if you jailbroke your ipod touch?

I have a jailbroken ipod touch 2.2
I have problems with the screen flickering, and the dock connector on the bottom is not working, so i cant charge it 🙁
If i unjailbreak and restore, is there a way for the apple store to tell if it was previously jailbroken???? cuz i think it voids the warranty

PLEASE HELP!

I think there is a way but they have to really be looking for that, most of the time they wont bother if it's restored. bottom line: you should be ok as long as you restore it.
 
also, i have an ipod touch 1st gen. will they give me another one, or a 2nd gen?
 
If they do, they will 🙂

I still see BestBuy's around my house having some 32GB and 16GB ones of the 1st Gen. touch

i know it will sound veeery strange, but how do i restore?
i know it's shift+restore but do i need an ispw or i just put my ipod touch on dfu mode and click restore?
and i lost all my backups 🙁
what should i do now?

Ones like yours (broken ones that are returned) get shipped back, fixed, have a new case put on them, and then are given out again as replacements.

Apple Stores can replace iPod models going back several years. Not always the specific color, but something of the same generation and size.
 
and just one more question(otherwise you guys will ban me)
when i restore, all app/themes/settings/wallpapers i downloaded from cydia and installer will dispear to?(including cydia and installer)
 
SpeAking of 1g touch's, I feel really bad cause a kid at my school got a touch for Xmas but it is the 1g one! I am unsure of how that could have happened. Do u guys think i should tell him or just let him be happy with his 1g touch? He has Already put a screen protector on it. What do you guys think?

Once again, why is it your problem? If said friend is happy with his own gift, leave it be. There's no need to deal with returns and offend the gift givers... Aside from that, they probably paid less.
 
But how much does it really matter? Over half of the employees at my local apple store have their iPhone and/or iPod Touch jailbroken.
