Okay, I have an old Queen album... News of the World. It is not a gapless album but two songs "We Will Rock You" and "We Are The Champions" are gapless songs (they play seamlessly). I can't get iTunes to do that! On my iPhone there is a distinct gap between the songs. Is there a way to get my iPhone to play these two songs correctly?

It's not currently possible, but I've been waiting for something like that for a long time. It would be awesome if they did something so that two songs could be strung together but still be separate song files. I also have a bunch of songs I'd like to do this with: We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions by Queen (as mentioned), Heartbreaker/Living Loving Maid, and Friends/Celebration Day, both by Led Zeppelin, and Sgt. Pepper/With A Little Help by The Beatles, just to name a few.

If you've got the album then just make it gapless. If there are natural breaks between all the other songs those will still be maintained. This technique worked great for the Switchfoot album Nothing is Sound where the first two tracks run into each other. The rest of the songs maintain their breaks.

Think of how iTunes does gapless like how the album sounds like when you play it back in a CD player. Same thing.

No, see, here's what I'm talking about: If you're listening to the radio and "We Will Rock You" comes on, it's always expected that you'll hear "We Are the Champions" immediately after. It's kinda hard to explain, but that's just how it is. Both songs are really just parts of one whole song.

More to the point, I think it would be great to put a playlist on shuffle, but if one of the two gapless songs comes up, then it would play the first, followed by the second, and then the playlist would continue to shuffle through the rest of the songs.

So yeah, a good example would be for "Lonely Nation" and "Stars" to always play one right after the other, even with the playlist on shuffle. There are also a couple more gapless tracks on there too. ;)

I obviously don't know much about Queen's albums. I see what you're talking about now.

Out of curiosity, what happens if you give the two songs the same track number?

You'll need to re-rip that CD and use the "Join CD tracks" function. :)
