Confusion on the pricing and the DRM

Do all of the songs that I have downloaded DRM free now or is there an update? Or do I need to spend the money to go to iTunes plus and upgrade? Other wise do all of the songs I download in the future come DRM free or once again is it only itunes plus?

No, they won't be upgraded automatically. There should be a link "iTunes Plus" on your iTMS homepage which lets you upgrade your previously purchased songs.

For now, purchases will still only be DRM-free if they got the "+" sign next to them. No idea if the sign will disappear once all songs on iTMS will be DRM-free later this year.
