I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the new macs will be released January 27th. It's likely the date iLife will ship, with it being a tuesday and "late january". It's far away enough from macworld to make sense, but not too far so as to be annoying, and they can then announce them shipping with iLife '09.
What do you think?

Lol
Yeah, I'll second that.
Seriously, though, all we have to do is wait and see... Nothing more to do except hope for something major.

What do you think?I'm with you on this. Apple has released updates on the last week of January before. I also look at the last week of February, where product updates have also occured.
People familiar with the matter say both products [17" MBP, Mac mini] are due to begin shipping this month but stopped short corroborating a Macworld introduction.

The only reason that date makes sense is because of this press release:
http://seefile.com/news.html
Near the bottom they talk about availability beginning February 2009.

I wouldn't count on iLife shipping in January as being a solid date. Apple hasn't met a lot of their planned release dates recently.

Yeah. I waited all December to cash in my Xmas present (new top of the line imac), and I can't wait any more. Go for it. If you HAVE to have the latest one, sell yours and shell out the difference.

my best guess would be that new imacs will be released at the same time snow leopard is. And it is rumoured snow leopard will be shipping Q1 2009.
