We are as one, presenting a united front. You will not be able to squeeze it out of any of us :D

I think I will join after MWNY, you see I have no cash at the moment (cause of the power surge that killed my macs (I am currently working on an old iMac400 and an iBook466)

My macs should be fixed soon, how am I going to afford it :(

Yeah, I'm thinking about joining up too. That new GeForce3 for my Cube set me back a pretty penny, though. I'll have to wait a little while, but I'm definitely going to find out what all of this means. :)

it would do well for a good video. Way back when MacAddict was getting started they took a video of one of the employees dragging a pc around behind a car in a parking lot at high speed. It didn't last long.

we could do it as a spoof of a commercial for Apple - have a geek working on a PC, dark lighting, heavy mood, rain outside the window, it gives him the blue screen of death, he gets mad and blows it away. Then he comes out of his day dream, back to the blue screen just as he gets his mail delivered and in it is an add for a mac - 'Do PCs make you want to shoot them....'

Cut to the gratuitous Apple shot, then back to the geek working away on a mac, sun shining, he's wearing a bright clothes, sporting the newest styles, listening to iTunes etc....

i dont know about overseas, but hear in good ole americia they only let you "donate" once a month. and they usually want a rather large amount of "product". in short it is a good way to make some quick cash but it is nothing to live off of.

ha. the funny thing is. i don't even remember what it stood for exactly. even when it was around still i always forgot which letters went where.

kinda funny given all it was built up to be and how a member and someone who started the whole drive of folks contributing (coincindentally probably) doesn't even know...

Thanks! Again staying with the theme - I had it cycling through the phases, but it became too big and couldn't get a smooth animation in the constraints allowed.

Made it in 3D from a sphere and several texture maps I found online - figured it was a time for a change of scenery - the palm trees were getting a little old.

I think we all realized the error of our ways pretty fast. I consider it a very interesting trip into forum psychology. It truly was amazing how it confused everything to have 10+ members all with the same tar. And as a learning experience, we all know never to do that again.

I was so frustrated at the end that I asked arn to change my member name - he never did. Might have to do that eventually though.

Glad you like the tar - I've got another nine planned - part of a series, you know?

D

Durandal7
Aug 28, 2002, 06:37 PM
Well, the DGVPG seemed to have good intentions at first. Unfortunately if they almost drove me away they may have driven a lot of newbies away or even turned some off to the idea of becoming a demi.

As for your username, I think you should keep it the same. Changing it could confuse people even more then a few members with the same 'tar.

Mr. Anderson
Aug 28, 2002, 07:39 PM
well, we'll see - its not that I'm worried about confusing people - its just that I have grander plans. If and when I do change the name its going to be Floss Gordon - you can see some of my really early work on the project at www.flossgordon.com

Some day I'll have few episodes and all the characters modelled, they'll be in my 'tars, etc.

i don't think i'm right on the money. but i don't know of anyone else who'd say

it wasn't paying to get into that "group". it was paying to contribute to the site. most of the people "in the group" contributed before it was even thought of. and the idea was to increase contributions, even if it did backfire. it did raise some money though.

no need to be so bitter

Mr. Anderson
Aug 29, 2002, 10:52 AM
the dgvpg came about from a discussion to get more members and the fact that several long standing members and very active posters hadn't contributed yet. The name wasn't important, that's why we never said what it was, it was all for a good cause - we just got a little carried away and didn't realize it till it was too late.

You are saying all what the History Chnneol want you to say.

You do not have idea of what the US is doing in some other nations and how they preffer to sabotage their development rather than let them grow.

1. Just in Venezuela, the US want my country to still without any real technical development just to make us depend from our oil and that way we have to feel in the obligation to negociate to our mayor consumer (80% of our production goes to the US).

2. We do not have rail roads because Ford and Chevrolet offered cheaper trucks and vehicles to the people that lives in the country, that si a old history without counting the money under the carpet.

3. Just last week BUsh made and agreement with our COMUNIST AND DICTATORIAL president about mantening the oil price and we do not bother you with your political/social situation.

moderator edit
The US rely on the missery of other nations, that is how you got strong.

it would do well for a good video. Way back when MacAddict was getting started they took a video of one of the employees dragging a pc around behind a car in a parking lot at high speed. It didn't last long.

What we got here is a good ole PC lynchin'.....

It didn't last long because when they went around a corner it slid full tilt into a curb. Yeaaahhhhh baby die you bastard. Hey if anyone wants to see that I will dig it out of my MacAddict CD Archive. Also known as my desk drawer.
