It would be funny if something like this was actually introduced somewhere along the line...

...a sign of Apple's slow descent into Consumerism... in 20 years time, Windows will be the "niche", where people turn to if they want customisability, a better operating system, and matte screens.

You know what's funny about the Onion — even though they lampoon and parody news, they tend to be right most of the time.

Apple is in fact coming out with a laptop with no keyboard, although instead of the scroll wheel, it will be touch. Perhaps this video showcased Apple's secret project.

Anyhow, I was in stitches the whole time watching the parody. FTW Onion! :D

that was soooo funny.

and so real-ish.

love the small little things apple does that they blew up and over exaggerated. Fantastic.

That's what's best about it. It's obviously fake and exaggerated, but there's a little element of truth in just about everything in that video. :D

I wonder if the Beijing Evening News will reprint this as fact like they did when the Onion ran a story about the US Congress threatening to leave Washington unless a new Capitol was built...including the Capitol being fitted with a retractable dome. "If we want to stay competitive, we need to upgrade."

The best thing was the Chinese paper's response...

Yu Bin, the editor in charge of international news...adamantly ruled out a correction and grew slightly obstreperous when pressed to comment on the article's lack of truth.

"How do you know whether or not we checked the source before we published the story?" Yu demanded in a phone interview. "How can you prove it's not correct?"

Completely ripped off a sketch from Peter Serafinowicz. For shame The Onion.

They're both making fun of the same things about Apple, but they've done them in different ways.

Or do you think once someone has made a joke about a subject, that subject is off limits forever?

If so, Serafinowicz is stepping on "Saturday Night Live" since they made up the 'iPod Micro' a good 2 years before Serafinowicz made his video. Does that make Peter wrong? Of course not.

That was the best part. I'd say a fair bit of the new OS X user base talks about how much more efficiently they can work on their new macs than they actually do. When compared to their windows counterparts who just sit down and finish their work.

Onion New Network is great--the sets, the acting, everything perfect.

Pause and read the sentence predictions--too funny :D And at the end: the next model won't have a wheel or screen. (Shuffle?)

Also funny: the idea (common enough to make fun of) that Apple cranks out bad products which people buy just because they're from Apple. (Examples? People will always point to the Cube... but isn't that an example of a GOOD product that people did NOT buy?)

They're superb. I believe that one of their videos - the Make-A-Wish one - actually managed to bamboozle some idiots in the real press. My favourite is the Ninja parade.

I dont live in the US and i can see it.

I don't know about other countries, but instead of a video everyone in Canada sees a black box with the following:

We're sorry, currently our video library can only be streamed within the United States. For more info on Hulu's international availability, click here.

If you're inside the United States and believe you've received this message in error, please click here.

So I really have no idea how it is available in the UK, since their FAQ entry also says US only, maybe it is mis-guessing an IP, or maybe there is a deal they haven't updated their messages for yet.

But I agree -- if there is an internationally available source for the video, that would be infinitely preferable to link to instead of one that annoys users every time they look at the page.
