Just wondering how long it takes to rip a standard dvd with the 3.06?

the ps3 setting i think its 2500

Well, my first gen 1.83CD iMac takes about (DVD time*1.5) to rip (so 3 hours to do a 2 hour DVD) using the universal preset. A 3.06 GHz iMac would likely be at least 2x faster, especially since the ps3 preset is (I believe) less complex.

i ripped a normal dvd with hb the other day on a 3.06 but didnt time it...

i dont know it was fast maybe 10-15 mins or something??i just had a coffee :)

EDIT: oh hang on that was just the rip you mean transcoding hahaha

yeah that takes longer hmmm i don't know again from memory maybe a little bit faster than realtime?

really?? with trans coding its around realtime???? my mini 1.83 CORE DUO with 2 gig of mem does a 1.5 hr movie in less than 2 hr i was hoping to it would be alot faster on the 3.06

i have 3.06 with 4GB ram and you know it depends on your setting and stuff i usually use the NORMAL default when transcoding dvds and yeah its faster than my old g5 imac :p but its not magic

but i cant really remember being honest i usually use the queue manager to do lots of images at once in the background...so how long is each encode i dont really know....
