I am trying to develop a script to change the resolution of my screen, launch my kids 'Jumpstart' application and then wait for the application to quit. Once the application quits, the script will then change back to the original resolution.
Is this even possible?
I don't know a lot about Applescript, so I realize that I have much to learn, but I have a lot of experience writing scripts in Perl and PHP.
Can anyone help, or point me in the right direction? :)

it's very possible. i could probably come up with a half-assed script with a lot of unnecessary code that might work sometimes. for a solid solution post this in the forum at http://www.macscripter.net
these guys know their stuff and are very friendly. you should have a solution by morning. it's the best place to go for all AppleScript matters.

Thanks for the help! I found exactly what I needed on macscripter.net. There is a thread on the bbs that talks about doing exactly what I needed to do. It required installing a command line application called 'cscreen', but the script works like a charm!
Thanks again. :)
